International family law

Managing cross-border family affairs is challenging in its own right. Navigating the interplay of jurisdictions, international treaties and supranational regulation is demanding. It will also frequently require multi-language documents to be drafted or translated. These must meet the form requirements particular to the relevant jurisdictions and be executed so that they can be used in foreign proceedings. A typical example of this area is probate, where one or both of the spouses are resident outside Sweden. We are familiar with wills and estate management. We have also advised on documentation of pre-nuptial agreements, divorce settlements and the division of matrimonial assets. We will also advise on the steps required to ensure that important documents are admissible in non-Swedish proceedings. You may be relocating for professional purposes, in which case we can make sure you have CV, personal identification documents, references, testimonials and academic qualifications translated to smooth the transition in your employment.
